Eastern Ohio P-16 Launch Event
January 20th, 2010
Wednesday, January 20th was a big day for education in the region. The Eastern Ohio P-16 Partnership for Education launched its education initiative that stresses collaboration between virtually all sectors of the community. 120 people turned out. Plenty of media in attendance. Thanks to KMG’s Lisa Vantell for taking on the monumental task of handling the endless details and logistics. It also gave Chris an opportunity to get away from the editing room and shoot the event.

The Partnership has drawn together individuals and organizations from Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull Counties, a big accomplishment in and of itself. The level of cooperation we’ve witnessed between educators, business, government, civic organizations, families, and nonprofits has been very encouraging, not to mention unprecedented.
The P-16 concept has been highly successful in other communities across the country, generating higher high school graduation rates and an increase in students moving on to post-secondary education. This is a difference maker for everyone. Economic stabilization and growth begins with an educated workforce.
